Wintry Tree Sampler: Rows of embroidered ice and crystals

Row after row of embroidery stitches make up this wintry design, a tree sampler for you to learn new stitches or enjoy revisiting those you already know.

The frosty palette of icy blues, white and silver give Wintry Tree Sampler (say that fast a few times in a row) a contemporary feel, offering an alternative to more traditional Christmas colours and extending the life of the pattern beyond the festive season.

The design fits into a standard 8 x 10 inch (20x25cm) frame, as seasonal décor for displays and mantelpieces. It’d also make a lovely, classic Santa bag or a contemporary centrepiece for a quilt or tree skirt.

The large variety of stitches used makes this an interesting design to stitch, whether you’re wanting to learn new stitches or get to grips with stitches you might not yet be super confident about doing. It includes some unusual stitches, such as moss, Tête de Bouef and wheatear, making it a true embroidery sampler.

Because there are quite a few different stitches in Wintry Tree Sampler, it’s also available bundled with 120 Embroidery Stitches, my ebook of hand embroidery stitches, at a reduced rate. If you already have the book, you’ll only need the pattern, which is available as an instant download from Etsy.
