Textile artworks are great for adorning walls, offering an alternative to oil and watercolour and a way to display and conserve your work.

Full Moon and Birdhouse have a minimalist aesthetic when embroidered on white, but you can switch up the thread colours and fabric to match your decor or work with colours that inspire you to completely change the look.

Both designs are filled with interesting stitches and I’ve framed them in box frames so the glass doesn’t squash the embroidery. The PDF patterns for Birdhouse and Full Moon are available as instant downloads from my Etsy shop.

The kits I’ve created with Quarto are being transformed into a book called Embroidery for Everyone. In addition to classic, boho and natural patterns, I’ve created some new seasonal designs for the book, which comes out later this year.

I’m also excited about a new partnership with Lauren of Maydel in the US, a new needlework store that offers custom supply collections – known as Bundels – of everything you need to embroider one of my patterns. We’re kicking off with Bundels for nine of my most popular designs, alongside those from my five fellow launch artists. The shop will be fully stocked and open from 13 April for our newsletter subscribers, giving you early access while it’s in “public beta” mode, and then Maydel launches officially on 3 May.

Infinity Bears are custom-made from treasured pieces of clothing, “whether you’re looking for a bear to celebrate a new baby, first birthday, special occasion or to remember someone”.

Helga Fitzroy has spent her lockdown restoring vintage embroidered tablecloths for an antiques dealer.

Hiroko Kubota puts cats in pockets. Rebecca Dawes’ embroidery is bold and bright. And Caroline Harrius combined cross stitch and ceramics to create this vase.

Lex Sugden hand embroidered every frame of this short film “to bring you the joy of this non-binary office bat, just dancing to the beat of their own drum”.
